Dieser Konzertmitschnitt von Elvis Presleys 1974er-Auftritt in seiner Heimatstadt dokumentiert das epochale Ereignis auf Doppel-CD (Expanded) in voller Länge, inklusive unveröffentlichtem Bonusmaterial.

Auf zwei CDs finden sich erstmals auch die Songs, die bei der Erst-VÖ 1974 auf der Original-LP keinen Platz gefunden hatten. Dazu gibt es noch einige Überraschungen: Auf CD2 der neu remastered Version von „Elvis Recorded Live On Stage In Memphis“ ist sogar der „Probedurchlauf“ für das Konzert zu hören, der am 18. März 1974, zwei Tage vor dem eigentlichen Event, vor einem begeisterten Publikum stattfand. Diese Generalprobe wurde damals in Mono aufgezeichnet und mit dem charakteristischen „Elvis-Reverb“ versehen, dem Hall-Effekt, den der King Of Rock And Roll bevorzugte.

Das Line-up umfasste James Burton und John Wilkinson (Gitarre), Charlie Hodge (Gitarre und Gesang), Duke Bardwell (Bass), Ronnie Tutt (Schlagzeug), Glen D. Hardin (Klavier), die Sweet Inspirations, JD Sumner & The Stamps, Kathy Westmoreland (Gesang) mit Joe Guercio und seinem Orchester.
