Das Album mit Musik und Songtexten von Bob Dylan wurde in den legendären Abbey Road Studios aufgenommen und ist ab 29. September 2017 als CD, Download und Stream verfügbar. Flankiert von 5-Sterne-Kritiken feierte GIRL FROM THE NORTH COUNTRY im Juli Premiere im “Old Vic” und ist dort noch bis zum 7. Oktober 2017 zu sehen.

Nach einem Buch von Conor McPherson und unter seiner Regie spielt GIRL FROM THE NORTH COUNTRY passenderweise in Bob Dylans Heimatstadt Duluth, Minnesota. Wir schreiben das Jahr 1934 und begleiten eine konfliktbeladene Gruppe von Menschen, die sich zusammengepfercht in der örtlichen Pension wiederfindet. Besitzer Nick hat mehr Schulden, als er jemals zurückzahlen kann, seine Frau Elizabeth verliert den Verstand, und ihre Tochter Marianne ist schwanger mit einem Kind, für das sich niemand verantwortlich fühlt. Als mitten in der Nacht ein Prediger, der Bibeln verkauft, und ein Boxer auf der Suche nach einem Comeback auftauchen, gerät die Situation außer Kontrolle.

Vom 20-köpfigen Aufgebot an Schauspielern und Musikern zum Leben erweckt, verwebt der preisgekrönte Autor und Regisseur Conor McPherson das Kult-Werk von Bob Dylan auf wunderbare Weise mit seinem neuen Stück, das voller Hoffnung, Kummer und Seele ist.
